Yesterday Mykola Tomenko, Vice-Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, visited Donetsk, where he met the students and teaching staff of philological and historical departments of Donetsk National University and presented an audio edition "Classical Ukrainian Literature. Live Voices". The said audio edition is a collection of unique audio records of prominent Ukrainian writers, issued by Mykola Tomenko Fund jointly with the National Radio Broadcasting Company of Ukraine on the occasion of the 17th anniversary of independence of Ukraine. Mykola Tomenko also presented the CDs "Swans of Motherhood: Live Voice of Vasyl Symonenko" and "Main Songs and Melodies of Ukraine".
At the opening of the first Ice Sports Palace, Mykola Tomenko addressed the local authorities of Kharkiv, Kherson and Kalush with an appeal to follow the example of Donetsk and facilitate construction of Ice Palaces in these cities.
As it was reported earlier, the governmental program "Ukrainian Hockey" envisaged allocation of budget funds for construction of four sports palaces for winter sports. Donetsk was the first to fulfill the Program. However, the other cities failed to finish the construction on time.
